Mountain trekking at the foothills of the Andes
In this trek you will enjoy the best views of the Andes immersed in the heart of the mountain. An ideal excursion to leave behind the noise of the city and be part of Mendoza’s landscapes.
Our tour will start in the morning. A SAK vehicle will pick us up early at the lodge to head west. The landscape will be changing. The groves will disappear, and when we are surrounded by mountains it will be time to start this unforgettable experience.
Our specialized guide will give us the necessary information and precautions to take into account during the trekking. It is important to go slowly in order to enjoy the scenery; take it easy and drink plenty of water. In Mendoza it is essential to always be well hydrated. We will begin to walk along mountain trails and we will not cease to be surprised. We will discover water springs, we will see different species of native fauna such as black eagles, condors and foxes. We will also learn about the local vegetation and its properties, among them the “jarilla”, our provincial flower. We will connect with nature and with ourselves. After 2 hours of hiking and admiring the best landscapes, we will start our way back.
By noon, we will return to our starting point where we will enjoy a regional country lunch. We will be able to pair the real Argentinian meat with the best of Mendoza wine. But this will not be just another lunch, here we will get to know the customs of our host gauchos and the local people.
After this experience the energy of the mountain will run through your veins.
In SAK Wine & Travel we want to live the trip with you: share what you bring and take something of what we are. We want to take care of the world starting with Mendoza’s water and we know that travel is essential to achieve it. With this excursion you will join our sustainable philosophy.
What do I need to know?
Essential items
We suggest you to bring these items for personal use to make your excursion perfect:
– Small backpack.
– Extra mineral water.
– Personal care items (lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen SPF50, antibacterial gel/wipes, insect repellent).
– Special clothing: hat or cap, sunglasses, comfortable and warm clothing (fleece/sweater, windbreaker), appropriate footwear for the activity.
Note: The best clothing for mountain activities is wool or synthetic materials in layers, as they dry quickly and keep warmth better. We suggest a base layer, then an intermediate layer, such as a light fleece coat or similar, and then a windproof and waterproof layer.
Safety tips: Inform the guide or driver of any illnesses, allergies or physical restrictions. Remember to bring your medication and administration instructions.
