What is the best time to go to Las Leñas?
Due to the geographical location of Las Leñas, in the department of Malargüe in Mendoza, the winter season is especially long. It starts with the first important snowfalls in July and usually lasts until October.
Temperatures, as expected, are cold at night but with days that become warm under the Mendoza sun and during the winter season they range between 11.7ºC and -1.4ºC.
How many kilometers are the slopes of Las Leñas?
Las Leñas Valley is one of the most important winter sports centers due to the unbeatable quality of its snow.
It has 16 km of slopes for all levels – professional, intermediate and beginners – as well as special areas for off-piste skiing.
Among the 29 runs available is the longest in South America at 7,050m in length. This impressive uninterrupted descent is a combination of the Apollo, Venus and Neptune runs and requires an intermediate level to ride it.
You can also find the longest off-piste freeski traverse in South America (16 km) and a full-piste snowpark.
With its 14 lifts you will challenge the vertical drop of 1,200 meters between the base of the mountain and its summit and it even has lighting so you can continue skiing at night!
Can I learn to ski in Las Leñas?
Of course! The center has a Ski and Snowboard School with the best instructors. Classes can be for children and adults and can be taken individually or in groups. The school also offers adapted ski classes for people with disabilities, taught by specialized instructors.

How do I get to Las Leñas?
The Valley can be reached by plane, car or bus. Malargüe has an airport where, during the winter season, Las Leñas offers direct charter flights from Buenos Aires. The Department of San Rafael, located 200 km away from the ski resort, also has daily flights from Buenos Aires.
Two years ago, a new road project shortened the distance between Mendoza City and Las Leñas Valley to 340 km, so flying to Mendoza and from there taking a transfer to Las Leñas is a very tempting option.
By land, the Department of Malargüe lies 1,200 km from Buenos Aires and you must travel along National Routes 7, 188, 143, 144, 40 and Provincial Route 222 up to Las Leñas, 20 km after the District of Los Molles.
