Country day. Private tour to Estancia Las Pircas
Have you ever heard of the mountain estancias at the foot of the Andes? Those places full of stories and deep-rooted customs, where time seems to stand still? I lived that experience at 2,000 meters above sea level in Estancia Las Pircas.
In the department of Tupungato, 90 km from the city, is La Carrera. This place is characterized by unforgettable mountain scenery at all times of the year, pure nature and a breathtaking view of the Cordón del Plata.
We will pick you up at your lodging early in the morning. We will get ready to learn about the history of the Estancia and the family that has been living on these lands for more than 200 years.
Upon arrival, the hosts will be waiting for us with delicious herbal teas and homemade pastries for breakfast. Then we will tour the new part of the estancia and its gardens.
It is time to start with some of the activities that we will be able to do during the day. The most daring can go out in 4×4, a classic full of adrenaline. If you are looking for something quieter, we suggest exclusive horseback rides through the hills surrounding the ranch. All the elements to ride the horse are of excellent quality and the animals are tame and well trained.
We also have the option of trekking with varying degrees of difficulty on trails that run through beautiful ravines. Another possibility is to go biking on trails appropriate to the physical condition of each member of the group. We will carry protective gear such as helmets and elbow pads.
During all the activities we will be able to do a photographic safari. The area is ideal for spotting native species such as guanacos, red deer, condors, hares and foxes. We will also learn about the local flora and its characteristics, among them the “jarilla”, our provincial flower.
At noon we will enjoy a typical Creole menu. For starters, delicious empanadas. We will continue with Argentinian barbecue with excellent quality cuts and salads with fresh seasonal vegetables. We will toast with the best premium wines of the Uco Valley.
During the afternoon, we will be able to do more activities or relax on a destination-free hike listening to the ancestral silence of the mountain. At sunset we will say goodbye and return home happy to have experienced the authentic Argentinian country life.
If you see a condor, take pictures, it is not every day you will see the largest flying bird in the world, so close.
At SAK Wine & Travel we want our trips to be a transforming experience for those who visit us and we know that sustainable tourism is the tool to achieve it. That is why in every excursion you do with us you are contributing to the care of Mendoza’s water.
