Laguna del Diamante Tour
In this experience you will be able to visit one of the most amazing places in the province of Mendoza, the well-known Laguna del Diamante and its majestic landscapes will surprise you in this full day trip.
Early in the morning, we will depart from Mendoza City towards the Uco Valley. We will take Route 40 until we reach the department of San Carlos. Once there, we will pass by the “Puesto Alvarado” where the park rangers will provide us with all the necessary information to live a complete experience.
The Laguna del Diamante Natural Reserve is located at 3300 meters above sea level and 11 km from the border with Chile. It belongs to the network of reserves of the province of Mendoza and its creation objective is to protect and conserve its landscape, wetlands, glaciers, flora, fauna and archaeological material.
With this excursion we will travel by 4×4 on an imposing mountain road, where we will have the incredible view of the Maipo Volcano and its 5,323 meters above sea level, which is reflected in the shape of a diamond in the lagoon. With our expert guides, we will understand why it is one of the most important sources of freshwater in the province, as a tributary of the Diamante River.
Once in the Reserve, we will visit its different places. The green oasis and its biodiversity, known as “vegas“, contrast with the arid and rocky lands, marveling us with its beauty and history. Then we will continue through the plains of Pampa de la Laguna, where we will visit two captivating lagoons: the Barrosa and the Diamante.
To end this experience, we will have a moment to contemplate the native flora and fauna. There we will enjoy some free time to have lunch and cultivate a true connection with nature.
Then it will be time to return to the city, knowing that this visit designed for nature lovers will leave our souls full for enjoying a whole day of the autochthonous of our land.
When our specialized guides tell you about the importance of the “vegas”, you will understand how magnificent this place is.
