High Mountain from San Rafael – Full Day
This full-day journey invites you to explore the Andes from San Rafael, following scenic roads that trace vineyards, rivers, and ancient mountain paths. Along the way, we’ll travel through Luján de Cuyo and the turquoise Potrerillos Reservoir, continue to Uspallata and its valleys of poplars, and reach the high peaks surrounding Penitentes.
In the heart of the Andes, we’ll visit Puente del Inca, a natural wonder shaped by mineral-rich waters, and admire Mount Aconcagua from its viewpoint, the highest summit in the Americas. If conditions permit, the adventure continues to Las Cuevas and the Cristo Redentor monument, standing 3,800 meters above sea level. Throughout the day, landscapes, legends, and local culture blend into a memorable experience that connects you with the true Andean spirit.

Itinerary

What do you need for this tour?
Essential items
We suggest you to bring these items for personal use to make your excursion perfect:
- Small backpack.
- Extra mineral water.
- Personal care items (lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen, antibacterial gel/wipes, insect repellent).
- Special clothing: comfortable clothing appropriate to the weather forecast and footwear suitable for the activity.
Safety tips: Inform the guide or driver about any illness, allergy or physical restriction. Remember to bring your medication and administration instructions.
Note: The best clothing for mountain activities is wool or synthetic materials in layers, as they dry quickly and keep warmth better. We suggest a base layer, then an intermediate layer, such as a light fleece coat or similar, and then a windproof and waterproof layer.
