Horseback Riding in Estancia San Ignacio
In this exclusive tour we will enjoy a horseback ride in a unique natural environment, a few kilometers from the city. The Estancia Andina San Ignacio is a place that perfectly combines mountain and proximity.
El Challao is located only 16 km from downtown Mendoza, in the foothills of the Andes. The place where we will begin to live this experience.
After 25 minutes we will arrive at Estancia San Ignacio. We will be welcomed with homemade pancakes and delicious mates, the typical infusion of our culture. We will be able to walk around the estancia. There we will observe the llamas, animals of arid zones, and we will learn about the actions they take to be a sustainable enterprise. The owners will tell us about the regenerative tourism they promote, which consists of revaluing the environment of the foothills, improving the flora, fauna and land use.
The horses will be ready and we will be able to start riding when we decide to do so. Each animal has the necessary equipment to be safe and to make the trip a pleasant one. The different types of saddles, the padded saddle pads and the leather reins are essential to control the equine’s gait and to feel the pleasure of knowing every corner of the Estancia at a leisurely pace. Once mounted, we will begin to enjoy the scenery. You don’t need to be an expert with the reins!
The “baqueanos” will guide us through mountain trails and incredible places. We will discover the native fauna such as black eagles, condors and foxes. We will also learn about the local flora and its characteristics, among them the “jarilla”, our provincial flower. We will connect with nature riding tame animals that will take us at their own pace.
At noon, we will return to the ranch where we will enjoy an exquisite meal. A regional lunch and local varietals will be waiting for us there. We will be able to pair delicious flavors with the best of Mendoza wine. Between relaxed chats we will get to know the customs of the locals.
We will return to the city happy to have connected with nature and left our mark through an experience that generates positive environmental impact. Bring a backpack or a small bag to store your cell phone and take pictures during the trip, from the top you will have the best views of Mendoza City!
Our trips are designed so that when you return home you feel that something has changed and we know that sustainable tourism is the way to achieve it. In SAK Wine & Travel we contribute to the Sustainable Development Goal Nº6: Water, a fundamental resource for Mendoza.
