In this horseback ride you will enjoy the best views of the Andes immersed in the heart of the mountain. An ideal excursion to leave behind the noise of the city and be part of Mendoza’s landscapes.

Our tour will start early in the morning. A SAK vehicle will pick us up in the morning from our lodging to head towards the mountain. The landscape will be changing, the green groves will disappear and when everything is countryside, we will find the place to start living this experience. 

The horses have the necessary equipment to be safe and to make the ride pleasant. The different types of saddles, the padded saddle pads and the leather reins are essential to control the equine’s gait and to feel the pleasure of getting to know every corner of the Andes at a calm pace. Once mounted, we will begin to enjoy the scenery. You don’t need to be an expert with the reins! Our specialized baqueanos will guide us through mountain trails and incredible places. We will discover water springs and spot different species of native fauna such as black eagles, condors and foxes. We will also learn about the local flora and its characteristics, among them the “jarilla”, our provincial flower. We will connect with nature riding tame animals that will take us at their own pace.

By noon, we will return to our departure base where we will enjoy a picnic lunch. There, an exquisite traditional “asado” will be waiting for us with some local varietals. We will be able to pair the real Argentinean meat with the best of Mendoza wine. But this will not be just another lunch, here we will be able to learn about the customs of our host gauchos and the local people. 

This experience is designed as an activity for the whole family, where we can find harmony with nature and wildlife, fused with the traditional flavors of food cooked over an open fire.

We suggest you to bring these items for personal use to make your excursion perfect:

– Small backpack.

– Extra mineral water.

– Personal care items (lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen SPF50, antibacterial gel/wipes, insect repellent).

– Special clothing: hat or cap, sunglasses, comfortable and warm clothing (fleece/sweater, windbreaker), appropriate footwear for the activity.

Note: The best clothing for mountain activities is wool or synthetic materials in layers, as they dry quickly and keep warmth better. We suggest a base layer, then an intermediate layer, such as a light fleece coat or similar, and then a windproof and waterproof layer.
