Private half day tour to Villavicencio Natural Reserve from Chacras de Coria
Villavicencio preserves the essence of our flora and fauna. In this nature tour we invite you to experience an unforgettable experience doing outdoor activities while we are in contact with the wildlife, history and charm of this wonderful place.
At 60 kilometers from the picturesque streets of Chacras de Coria, where vineyards and residential areas merge between typical Mendocinean groves, we will find a historic site surrounded by vegetation and native animals. This protected area is located in the foothills of the Andes, where we will enjoy unique landscapes that surround an iconic hotel of our culture.
A driver will pick you up early in the morning at your accommodation. We will begin this exclusive nature tour in the company of our experienced guide. He will provide you with accurate information throughout the tour and will be at your disposal to live the best SAK experience.
We will head towards the foothills. A little more than an hour away we will arrive at the Villavicencio Natural Reserve, declared a protected area in 2000, to experience an ecological balance. This place is the habitat of diverse species of flora and fauna, protected and conserved, such as the “guanaco” and the “cóndor”. We will also find “jarilla”, the provincial flower, a typical plant of our area.
At the entrance we will take the necessary time to know all the attractions and enjoy this incredible natural space. We will see the emblematic Villavicencio Hotel, an old inn with alpine architecture that today is being restored, and we will walk through the gardens and terraces of this National Historic Monument. As we walk our guide will explain the importance of the wetlands, millenary formations that are key to the biodiversity of the area, and we will learn how to protect them.
After discovering every nook and cranny in the gardens, we will continue up the 365 curves road, known for its snails and its beauty. Along the way we will observe animals that are part of a typical landscape of Mendoza and when we reach the natural viewpoint we will get off to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Andes Mountains and its snow-capped peaks.
We will return aware that we are part of a living ecosystem. We will learn the values of conservation to protect the region and the work of sustainability that is being done to take care of this natural lung near the city. When we return we will be ready to enjoy the rest of the day in the attractive center of Chacras and its intimate cafes around the square.
If you don’t have the time to dedicate a full day to the High Mountain excursion, this tour is ideal! Get to know our biodiversity and Mendoza’s typical mountain scenery in half a day. You will come back relaxed to enjoy the exclusive area of Chacras at sunset.
At SAK Wine & Travel we design each experience in tune with the care and respect for nature and local communities. We want our travelers, when they return home, to feel that change has begun and that traveling is a great opportunity to build a better world. By traveling with us you are taking care of Mendoza’s water.
