Talampaya & Valley of the Moon: Journey to the Origins of the Earth – 5-Day Package
This journey through San Juan and La Rioja offers an immersive experience in some of Argentina’s most striking geological landscapes, recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Over five days, you will explore places that feel truly otherworldly: the Valley of the Moon in Ischigualasto, the towering red canyons of Talampaya, and scenic routes crossing deserts, valleys, and mountain ranges. Each day blends nature, geological history, and encounters with local traditions.
The experience is enriched with unforgettable moments such as stargazing in Barreal, under one of the clearest skies in the southern hemisphere, and guided visits to national parks of exceptional archaeological and paleontological value. What do you need for this tour?
Essential items
We suggest you to bring these items for personal use to make your excursion perfect:
- Small backpack.
- Extra mineral water.
- Personal care items (lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen, antibacterial gel/wipes, insect repellent).
- Special clothing: comfortable clothing appropriate to the weather forecast and footwear suitable for the activity.
Safety tips: Inform the guide or driver about any illness, allergy or physical restriction. Remember to bring your medication and administration instructions.
Note: The best clothing for mountain activities is wool or synthetic materials in layers, as they dry quickly and keep warmth better. We suggest a base layer, then an intermediate layer, such as a light fleece coat or similar, and then a windproof and waterproof layer.
