Small group tour to the high Andes up to Aconcagua viewpoint
Mendoza is much more than wine and wineries! If you come here, you cannot miss the Andes Mountain Range and everything that surrounds this unique place in the world: mountain villages, roads full of stories, incredible landscapes and the highest mountain in America.
The area known as Alta Montaña is only a few hours away from the city. The contrast with the vineyards and the typical groves of Mendoza is amazing, when entering this region of great snow-capped peaks the landscape becomes rough and rocky. Get ready for a day of disconnection and fresh air.
We will pick you up very early in the morning at your accommodation with a fun group of travelers from other parts of the world. Our guide, an expert in the history and geography of Mendoza, will explain everything you need to better understand our culture. One hour from the city we will find the first mountain villages: Cacheuta and its hot springs is ideal for relaxing, Villa Potrerillos with its artisans and its privileged view of the dam is a charming place to stay but we have to go on!
Continuing the course of the Mendoza River we will arrive at Uspallata, a tourist town with a lot of history and great gastronomic offerings. A few minutes from that urban point we will see the Penitentes ski resort and visit one of the most amazing geological formations you have ever seen: the Puente del Inca, a natural monument included in the Andean road system known as Camino del Inca, which was declared World Heritage Site by Unesco.
After a few photos in this incredible place, we will continue on our way to the Aconcagua Provincial Park where we will observe the native flora and fauna. There we will have the opportunity to see the highest peak in Latin America (weather permitting) and take pictures of the imposing 6,962 meters of the giant of America.
After enjoying the best landscapes and full of pure mountain air we will return to the city.
Our trips are designed so that when you return home you feel that something has changed and we know that sustainable tourism is the way to achieve it. In SAK Wine & Travel we contribute to the Sustainable Development Goal Nº6: Water, a fundamental resource for Mendoza.
What do you need for this tour?
Essential items
We suggest you to bring these items for personal use to make your excursion perfect:
– Small backpack.
– Extra mineral water.
– Personal care items (lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen SPF50, antibacterial gel/wipes, insect repellent).
– Special clothing: hat or cap, sunglasses, comfortable and warm clothing (fleece/sweater, windbreaker), appropriate footwear for the activity.
Note: The best clothing for mountain activities is wool or synthetic materials in layers, as they dry quickly and keep warmth better. We suggest a base layer, then an intermediate layer, such as a light fleece coat or similar, and then a windproof and waterproof layer.
