Private tour to the high Andes with trekking to the Quebrada del Durazno
Are you looking to disconnect from the city and connect with yourself? This experience is ideal! We will accompany you on a unique trip to the heart of the Andes Mountains, where you will discover wonderful landscapes, mountain villages and you will face the giant of America in an unforgettable trek.
The High Mountain area is only a few hours away from the city. The contrast with the typical groves and crops of Mendoza begins to be noticed as you enter this region of great snow-covered peaks. You will see how the landscape becomes rugged as you go along the rivers.
The road is long and our experienced driver knows perfectly the route that will take us, between ravines and large mountains, to the Aconcagua. From the beginning of the trip you will have the exclusive service of a trained guide who will be at your disposal and will adapt to your time to get to know each of the places. On the way to the first destination you will discover our history and the importance of the mountain for the people of Mendoza.
Cacheuta is the first stop, a railway town with relaxing hot springs. A few kilometers from there we will find Villa Potrerillos, a place with a beautiful view of the dam that bears its name. Continuing along Route 7 we will arrive at Uspallata, the meeting point for thousands of tourists passionate about the mountains, like you. We will continue along the Mendoza River until we reach the Penitentes ski resort. Then we will visit the natural monument Puente del Inca, a geological formation with orange, yellow and ocher tones that will surprise you. This natural icon is part of the Andean road system known as the Inca Trail, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
In this private tour for you and your travel companions you decide how long you want to stay in each place, you will be able to get off and walk through this historic site but remember that the mountain is calling us! So we will continue to Aconcagua Provincial Park where we will be welcomed by the park rangers and they will explain to us about the native flora and fauna of this wonderful place. After the welcome, our expert guide in mountain trails will give you the necessary information and precautions to take into account for the trekking.
We will be at 2800 meters above sea level, it is advisable to do the walk calmly and always be well hydrated. If you choose to go to the Quebrada del Durazno we recommend you to wear appropriate clothing because it will be about 2 hours in total with a moderate difficulty. If you go to the Mirador, the trail is easier, in 45 minutes you will be back, it all depends on the amount of photos you take with the giant of America.
After the trekking it is time to start the return trip. To finish this mountain experience we will make a mandatory stop in Uspallata, where we will be welcomed with an exquisite creole lunch before returning to the city.
Do you already know the story of the Aconcagua mummy? Ask the guide to tell it to you to learn more about our traditions and beliefs. With this information the excursion will be more complete and you will be able to talk to the locals about this historical fact.
In SAK Wine & Travel we want to live the trip with you: share what you bring with you and take with you something of what we are. We want to take care of the world starting with Mendoza’s water and we know that travel is essential to achieve it. With this excursion you will join our sustainable philosophy.
