Vineyards in Cuadro Benegas, San Rafael, with the Andes behind

Algodon Wine Estates

Algodon Wine Estates covers 120 hectares of vineyards in Cuadro Benegas, on route 144. Its most valuable piece is a vineyard planted in 1946 that once belonged to Enzo Bianchi and that was brought back vine by vine, with Marcelo Pelleriti advising and Mauro Nosenzo as winemaker.

It is a boutique winery in the literal sense: it makes around 70,000 litres a year and puts selection before volume.
It works with Malbec, Bonarda, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc and a Malbec rose.

Cuadro Benegas is one of the two areas covered by our Cuyan Flavors tour.
