La Mansa Wine Estates makes high-end wines in San Rafael, with Ego as its best known line. The tour runs from the barrel room out to the vineyards and ends where the winery plays its strongest card: a terrace that opens straight onto the vines.
The visit is built for the last hours of the afternoon. The tasting is four varietals plus a sparkling wine, served with hard, semi-hard and semi-soft cheeses, smoked meats and dark chocolate truffles with citrus sauces.
Pick-up is available from hotels within five kilometres of downtown San Rafael.
